[12 December 2008] Myolie Wu Moving Away from Fa Dan

All along there are quite a few artistes who became singers, for example, a few years ago, there were Louis Koo, Flora Chan, Wong Hei, etc. Although after they became singers, the response wasnt very big, but at least they tried! Recently, the trend is back again, starting from Raymond Lam to Linda Chung , Bosco Wong and Myolie Wu. All of them are TVB Siu San and Fa dan. But to be successful, have to really work harder than other singers, because they have to change the image that is already fixed in the eyes of the audience! This time, Myolie decided to try it, have to say Goodbye to Fa Dan.

一直以嚟都有唔少演員轉型去做歌手，好似幾年前嘅古天樂、陳慧珊、王喜等等，雖然佢哋轉咗去唱歌之後嘅反應唔太大，但係都叫做試過吖！近年又開始吹起呢陣「轉型風」，由林峯開始到鍾嘉欣，再去到黃宗澤，到而家嘅胡杏兒，位位都係當今電視界嘅當紅小生花旦。不過要成功轉型，都真係要比其他歌手付出更大嘅努力，因為要改變人家心目中根深柢固嘅形象嘛！今次杏兒決定豁出去，要同花旦Say Goodbye。

I think she can be both.. i think they are trying to make news thats all. I don't see why she can't be a fadan and a singer...probably the image is different thats all..

I hope she can be both a singer and also continue with her career in TVB as an actress as well. She has to continue because she is still aiming for the TVB Best Actress award, which I am rooting for her as well.

I have faith that she will succeed in both. =] Well, they want to state that they think if Myolie becomes successful in singing that she will stop with acting... but I don't think she will stop unless she gets the Best Actress.

p/s: what does Fa Dan means anyways?

Fa Dan is the general term used to describe all the leading actress in TVB. Siu sang the general term for the leading actors.

I don't see why Myolie can't succeed in both acting and singing. I have confidence she'll do well in both areas. She worked really hard to be where she is now and deserves her Fa Dan position!
