Myolie's Diary

We live in the city,hence every morning when we wake up, there is always clean water for us to wash our face and brush our teeth. Once we head out to the streets, there are all sorts of public transport. We can simply wave our hands and sit inside a car comfortably. Without many steps, we will reach our destination conveniently and quickly. On the way, we can also sleep in the car, read a book or listen to music. When it is dinner time, we can simply walk into any eatery and eat our favourite food. When we reach home, we just have to open the tap, and have a good warm bath. Finally, we can rest in our comfortable bed and have a sweet dream.

All of these written above are what we are used to in our lives since young. We take it for granted but have you think before that these simple lifestyle, to some who live in other countries, is a luxury?

For those villagers who are living in 昭通三家寨, they are not as lucky and fortunate as us. When we were visiting them, we took about an hour plus ride from the hotel, passing through a rough patch of road. Don't think about resting, even when we are sitting, we have to use two hands to hold on to the handles before we can balance ourselves. When we arrived at the entrance of the village, we have to walk for an hour to enter the village. During lunch time, we were invited to the village chief's house as guests. What we had for lunch is their usual daily food - 白烚土豆及蕎麥做的蕎巴巴 (potato, etc). The villagers' hair and skin are very dry and dirty. This is because to them, water are very precious, so they can only wash themselves once in a long time. What they live in are huts made of leaves and grasses. They are simple and crude. They sleep on wooden beds.

We live in luxury cities, and yet sometimes, are troubled over little things. Although they live in a difficult environment, but they did not grumble, instead, they are more united and proactive to face it, working hard to live. These big differences, cause me to feel very fortunate and make me treasure what i have even more.

Hope that as everyone is enjoying your happy times, you will also lift out your helping hand, and help these villagers, allowing them to have the basic standard of living. Just have to donate less than 100 HKD a month, you can help to change their lives, so why not? Don't think anymore, let's do it immediately!

杏兒手記

生活在大都市的我們，每天起床扭開水龍頭便有清潔的自來水供我們刷牙洗面；走到街上便有各類交通工具，只需揚一揚手，便可安穩地坐在車上，方便快捷，不用多走幾步便到目的地，途中更可在車上打個盹，看看書或聽收音機；晚飯時間到，隨便走進一家食店，就可以點你喜愛的食物；回到家中扭開水龍頭，泡個熱水澡，然後高床軟枕，發個美夢。

以上的一切，就是我們從小就習慣的生活，我們視之為理所當然，但你們有否想過，這麼簡單的生活，對國內部份地區的人士，仍然是奢侈品呢？

然而生活在昭通三家寨的村民，就沒有我們這麼幸運了。這次前往探訪他們，我們由酒店坐個多小時車程，經過崎嶇不平的車道到三家寨，別說在車中休息，就連坐著也需要雙手握著把手才能平衡身體；到達三家寨村口，下車再向迂迴的山路走約一小時入村；午飯時間，我們作客村長家中，午飯吃的都要他們的日常的糧食 －白烚土豆及蕎麥做的蕎巴巴；村民們的頭髮及皮膚都乾燥及髒得很，因為水對他們來說很珍貴，所以要很長時間才會清洗一下。他們住的都是一些以草屋或簡陋的磚屋，睡的都是木板或木頭砌成的床。

我們生活在富裕的大都市中，往往會因為一些雞毛蒜皮的事而煩惱不堪；但他們活在艱苦的環境下，仍沒有怨天尤人，反而更加團結，更加積極去面對，努力生活。這種強烈的對比，令我覺得自己是無比的幸福，更應珍惜現在所擁有的。

請大家在惜福的同時，伸出你們的援手，幫助這些村民，讓他們得到基本生活的所需。每月只需捐助不到百元，便可幫助他們改善生活，何樂而不為呢？不要再考慮，立即行動吧！
