[09 May 08] Myolie Wu Gearing Towards Music Industry

TVB recently has arranged their management artists Linda Chung, Kate Tsui, Myolie Wu, Bosco Wong, Ron Ng etc to sign contracts with various music companies. Linda with Star Entertainment (星娛樂), Myolie with Neway, Kate and Ron with 恆藝亞洲. They have planned Linda Chung to enter the music industry with a new female idol image.

TVB executive manager Virginia Lok revealed that they are still under negotiation. In terms of whether or not her artists will be stolen away, she expressed that she only wants to help artists to further develop their various skills and market. When Virginia was asked if TVB artists are in an advantage to win music awards, she believes that everything only depends on their capability.

Stars Entertainment's (星娛樂) executive officer revealed that they are planning to have Linda Chung to give a 玉女 image since there isn't much out there in the market. He also praises Linda Chung's singing skills and her diligence. He wants to further develop her.

Neway's Sales Director admitted that they have signed music contract with Myolie Wu and that they are preparing to help Myolie produce a single in the next half year, "Out of all female artists, she's one of the better ones in singing. She has potential to sing a wide range of music." In terms of whether management artists tend to have higher tendency to win musical awards, he stressed, "That really depends on the artists' capability and competence, both Myolie and Virginia are planning to open a variety of market." The Director of 恆藝亞洲 revealed that everything was still in the progress of negotiation, they will go public as soon as everything is finalized.

I'm so happy and excited that Myo has finally signed a music contract.

This is a surprise, but at the same time, I'm very happy for all the TVB artists involved in this music deal, especially Myolie. Neway is certainly correct and I personally believed Myolie has a very nice voice. I'm happy Neway has chosen her and that Ms. Lok believes in her singing capability. This is certainly a very nice and happy news. Wow! Virginia Lok is handling this singing negotiation, huh?

Didn't Ron already signed with BMA and produced an album in 2005? He's signing with another company now?

Hm.. not to be offensive or biased, I don't think Bosco, Ron and Linda can really sing. I hear them singing the tvb theme songs, but err...?? Oh well, who knows?! ^^ Anyway, it's still nice to hear such news and good for all of them!!!

Firstly, I'm just so overjoyed that Myo is finally becoming "a singer" too... her voice is just too good to be missed. However, to be quite honest, I personally don't think any of the listed artistes are ready to be singers yet, but I think Myo has the most potential out of them. I just hope TVB will give Myo some time off so she can focus on her singing, and brush up her live singing skills. Other than that, sooooo looking forward to her new single/album...

I never knew Neway was a music company. I thought it was only a karaoke box franchise =o. I guess they've expanded to releasing and producing music too. I assume they are fairly new with it.. Which is a good thing for Myolie. New singers (especially TVB artistes) are often neglected in big music companies. I'm glad Myolie didn't sign into companies like EEG or Universal (although both my idols are in there LOL), but they cause way too many negative news and rumours.

Raymond is actually in EEG... So the chances of a Rayolie duet is far from happening LOL

Well I hope Neway could also organise singing lessons for Myolie as well. Although she's got the potential and everything, she's still lacking a lot of experience and singing techniques.

If she really becomes a "singer", antis will surely jump at her if her live singing is not up to standard. Look at all the recent TVB artistes that have gone into the singing field... and how they get bashed for their live singing. Raymond is the only exception because he CAN sing live, and he's consistent too.

Haha frankly speaking, Myolie's live singing can range from nice to horrible. I think it really depends on her mood LOL. Or what she eats etc. She doesn't specialise in music so can't really blame her for not protecting her voice. But she was pretty okay at one stage - in the To Grow With Love period her singing was a lot more steady. Maybe got advice from Andy Hui? But nowadays..... =.=. So yeah, that would definitely give more excuses for the antis to attack .___."

Haha sorry for being a party pooper LOL. But just to make you feel better, I think there is still some hope for a Rayolie duet cause EEG has a really close connection with Neway *rolleyes*. Yeah I think when it comes to TVB singers, Raymond is probably one of the best one's I've heard, surprisingly LOL. I know he started singing at a much earlier stage right? But never got anywhere until recently.

I've heard Myo sing really really well before, and heard her sing pretty badly. It's this inconsistency which I'm worried about. I do think it's just a lack of practice though. I mean, most of the times she's already really busy filming series day and night. It's only recently where TVB has let her take a long break from filming any series and attend more functions/performances where she gets to sing. And as a result, I think this has helped her become more confident at singing, and also good chances for her to polish her live singing.

I just wish TVB will let her off again after filming BF3 so she gets sufficient practice. Although, on the other hand, that means we only have BF3 in store for 2009. Hmmmm... not a good thing either. Lack of Myolie series nowadays.

Although I've only become a fan of hers recently, I actually prefer her to try more other activities apart from acting. SCD is a good example! Haha. And I think it's safe for her to try other things too now that she has built some popularity in the TV world. But I'm still anticipating for the day she will get the big award ^^. She doesn't need to film many series a year... All she needs is a GOOD series and a GOOD role >___< but that opportunity seems so hard to find haha

Yes at least Myolie get sign with a music company! I never heard of newway until hkangel sis explain the situation. I'm happy that Myolie sign with a music company but I'm worried that they might not promote her as much...I'm scared that after the single/cd came out there will be no more...Hopefully I'm just scaring myself and that will not happen!! However I personally would have like it better if Gold Lable would have sign with Myolie since I remember both Paco and Justin praising Myolie's singing.

^ Paco is nasty lol. If he likes you, he can bring you up really quickly like a rocket. But if he had enough of you, he leaves you in the corner collecting dust LOL. Kelly, Justin and Stephy are good examples
