[4 August 2008] Myolie depends on veteran for tv ratings

Myolie's response to the drama 'When a dog loves a cat' in which she was the main female character. Last week, the ratings was 29 points, the results won't as good as MR. She emphasised that both scripts cannot be compared, and she also did notice the responses for the drama. Every audience was really happy: "MR is already well know, so it is normal for them to have good ratings. But both plots are very different. and MR has many veterans, but i have a veteran too (Gallen).


Myolie believes that Gallen can cause higher ratings for the drama

胡杏兒對於其主演的劇集《當狗愛上貓》，在過去一周收視只得廿九點，成績不及《溏心風暴之家好月圓》，她強調兩劇無得比，而且她亦有留意劇集的反應，每多觀眾都看得很開心：「《溏》劇口碑好，有好收視係應該，但兩個劇唔同，《溏》劇卡士好勁多，不過我都有個撈家（羅嘉良）。」

I LIKE HER HAT TOO!! haha. I don't think 29's low, 28-29 seems kind of average for all the series right now...but it would be nice if they got 30 or 31! I mean its GALLEN LO, yat gor!!

^ 29 is considered quite low..30 is average.

Sigh I know they'll compare the series with MR ratings. MR got 34/35 points peaking at 42 points! but comparing a grand production containing a damn huge cast and nice script with a normal production containing normal cast and normal script is a little unfair..

The title kind of sounds bad. Myolie has to depend on a veteran for tv ratings. For example: most of the main cast for "war and destiny" were of the new generation. Sunny Chan is a veteran, but he's not "high acclaimed" or super popular. The series had good ratings. It placed 7th for the year.

True, the scripts are incomparable. "when a dog loves a cat" is a light hearted series. The series will get more interesting when Gallen's cancer comes back.

yeah.. can't compare an orange with an apple.. MR and WDLC are totally different.. and as for the title, i hope i get it right :S

Can't expect the ratings to be very high for the 8.30 pm time slot because many people in HK are still out in the streets or on their way home from work.
( That's what my HK colleagues just told me). Hence, all the series that TVB wants to promote and does very well are usually put at the 9.30 time slot.

The exception is WOIL 2 which did extremely well despite being aired at 8.30 pm. time slot

By the way, noticed that all Myo's series this year at placed on the 8.30 pm time slot. Sigh!

^ My only hope is Burning Flames III... all the news about it are Kevin & Wong Hei filming fire scenes rescuing people. Hope the script is good and it will placed in a good timeslot

^ Myolie only has BF3 after this anyway so it IS the only hope LOL..However it doesn't seem like TVB is promoting BF3 highly..sigh..there's no hype at all for the series..

but I still hope it'll be good and I trust the producer saying that Myolie's character is different than usual in BF3

Yeah if I may choose little to no promotion for BF3 but the result of the output is very good or too much promotion but the outcome is bad or less than expected than I prefer the first of course.

WOIL2 did well because of the good show quality & hype. If a show is good, it'll most likely get good ratings.
There were mostly good feedback/reviews for that show.

Watch the show first & see if the show is extremely good without being biased.

Yeap I hope BF3 will be the 'underdog' series. Right now we can see it's not receiving much hype and promotion but hopefully it'll turn out to be a good series and surprises everyone
